Deposit

Projects begin with a deposit of [amount, e.g., 50% / $1,000]. The deposit is nonrefundable once research begins.

Cancellation before research begins

If you cancel in writing before research begins, we will refund your deposit less [processing fee, if any].

Cancellation after research begins

If you cancel after research begins, the deposit is retained and we will deliver the research completed to date. Any balance paid beyond the deposit will be refunded pro rata for work not yet performed, at our reasonable discretion.

After delivery

Fees are nonrefundable after delivery. We will correct factual errors you identify that are supported by the records within [30] days of delivery.

Printed books

Printed books are custom-made and nonrefundable once sent to print, except for printing defects, which we will replace.

Third-party costs

Record, archive, and translation fees incurred on your behalf with your approval are nonrefundable.
